Preoccupation With This World
[10:7] Those who are not expecting to meet us, and are preoccupied with this worldly life and are content with it, and refuse to heed our proofs;
[10:8] these have incurred Hell as their ultimate abode, as a consequence of their own works.
As a submitter we should be content, but 10:7 indicates that those who are preoccupied with this world are content as well. How do we reconcile this? Can you have content in life without God?
Their content comes out of ignorance. Think of the turkey who thinks how great it is that each day they are getting fed and living a comfortable life, oblivious that Thanksgiving is around the corner.
