God or Money? (4:2)

Regard the Orphans

[4:2] You shall hand over to the orphans their rightful properties. Do not substitute the bad for the good, and do not consume their properties by combining them with yours. This would be a gross injustice.

God puts us in that position to determine if we choose God or money.

Matthew 6:24:

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Probably the biggest idol today is money. Money is causing more people to sell their souls more than just about anything else in this world today. People are willing to give almost anything to accumulate money even at the expense of taking advantage of the most defenseless of the community, the orphans.
