[2:179] Equivalence is a life saving law for you, O you who possess intelligence, that you may be righteous.
Iranian mother saves the life of her son’s murderer
The power of forgiveness is for our own good. By staring into her son’s murderers face she could see the consequences of what her anger could cause and the grief she could add to the world. It is our own selves that we harm when we can’t forgive.
How awesome is it that this event made world news. The world is thirsty for a good gesture.
It takes a lot of energy to keep a room dark, but only one flame to light it up. The power of love, peace, forgiveness goes so much further than darkness.
Traits of the Believers
[42:37] They avoid gross sins and vice, and when angered they forgive.
[42:38] They respond to their Lord by observing the Contact Prayers (Salat). Their affairs are decided after due consultation among themselves, and from our provisions to them they give (to charity).
[42:39] When gross injustice befalls them, they stand up for their rights.
[42:40] Although the just requital for an injustice is an equivalent retribution, those who pardon and maintain righteousness are rewarded by GOD. He does not love the unjust.
[42:41] Certainly, those who stand up for their rights, when injustice befalls them, are not committing any error.
[42:42] The wrong ones are those who treat the people unjustly, and resort to aggression without provocation. These have incurred a painful retribution.
[42:43] Resorting to patience and forgiveness reflects a true strength of character.
It is tough to forgive, and to forgive takes a lot of courage.
If we practice something for ~30 days our body will adapt and get used to it. Analyze the scenario and determine if it benefits to forgive.
When we acknowledge our weakness God will help us overcome it.
The ability not to forgives has often to do with our own ability not to let go of anger
[6:59] With Him are the keys to all secrets; none knows them except He. He knows everything on land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls without His knowledge. Nor is there a grain in the depths of the soil. Nor is there anything wet or dry, that is not recorded in a profound record.
Before we know God, we think that we have to fight for justice. Once we realize that God is the one who takes everything to account it is a huge burden off our back. God knows when the slightest injustice befalls anyone and God can account for it. What do we have to lose if we forgive?
We don’t have the ability to correct justice only God does.
The more room we make in our heart for love and peace the more light we are brining to our heart and removing darkness.
