[21:83] And Job implored his Lord: “Adversity has befallen me, and, of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful.”
[21:84] We responded to him, relieved his adversity, and restored his family for him, even twice as much. That was a mercy from us, and a reminder for the worshipers.
[21:85] Also, Ismail, Idrîs, Zal-Kifl; all were steadfast, patient.
[21:86] We admitted them into our mercy, for they were righteous.
What does it mean that Job’s family was restored twice as much?
Is there a difference between “restore” vs. “substitute” vs. “revive’
[18:81] “We willed that your Lord substitute in his place another son; one who is better in righteousness and kindness.
[28:13] Thus, we restored him to his mother, in order to please her, remove her worries, and to let her know that GOD’s promise is the truth. However, most of them do not know.
[2:248] Their prophet said to them, “The sign of his kingship is that the Ark of the Covenant will be restored to you, bringing assurances from your Lord, and relics left by the people of Moses and the people of Aaron. It will be carried by the angels. This should be a convincing sign for you, if you are really believers.”

This should be a proof for you, if you are believers.
[11:45] Noah implored his Lord: “My Lord, my son is a member of my family, and Your promise is the truth. You are the wisest of the wise.” [11:46] He said, “O Noah, he is not of your family. It is unrighteous to ask Me for something you do not know.* I enlighten you, lest you be like the ignorant.” [11:47] He said, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You, lest I implore You again for something I do not know. Unless You forgive me, and have mercy on me, I will be with the losers.”
Genesis 22:17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,
Job had family restored twice as much. Two times Zal-Kifl is mentioned after mentioning Job. See below:
The Devil Afflicts Job*
[38:41] Remember our servant Job: he called upon his Lord, “The devil has afflicted me with hardship and pain.” [38:42] “Strike the ground with your foot. A spring will give you healing and a drink.”
God Makes it up to the Believers
[38:43] We restored his family for him; twice as many. Such is our mercy; a reminder for those who possess intelligence. [38:44] “Now, you shall travel the land and preach the message, to fulfill your pledge.” We found him steadfast. What a good servant! He was a submitter. [38:45] Remember also our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They were resourceful, and possessed vision. [38:46] We bestowed upon them a great blessing: awareness of the Hereafter. [38:47] They were chosen, for they were among the most righteous. [38:48] Remember Ismail, Elisha, and Zal-Kifl; among the most righteous.
- Abraham was given two sons that were prophets Isaac and Ishmael.
- Isaac had two sons: Jacob and Esau
- Elisha received double the portion of Elijah’s spirit (2 Kings 2:9)
- 9 When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”
- Ismail was the first born who received doubl the portion of inheritance (Deuteronomy 21:17)
- 17 But he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that [b]he has, for he is the beginning of his strength; to him belongs the right of the firstborn.
Zal-Kifl literally means Possessor of Double Portion

Dhul-Kifl, or Zul-Kifl (Classical/ Qur’anic Arabic: ذَا ٱلْكِفْل / ذُو ٱلْكِفْل [Dhū ‘l-Kifl/ Dhā ‘l-Kifl]; “Possessor of Double Portion”) (c. 600 BCE) is an Islamic prophet who has been identified with various Hebrew Bible prophets, most commonly Ezekiel.
The name Zul-Kifl would mean “One of double”, as Zul in Arabic means “the one of” and “kifl” means “double or folded”. Some Islamic scholars have likened Ezekiel’s mission to the description of Dhul-Kifl. When the exile, monarchy, and state were annihilated, a political and national life was no longer possible. In the absence of a worldly foundation it became necessary to build a spiritual one and Ezekiel performed this mission by observing the signs of the time and deducing his doctrines from them. In conformity with the two parts of his book, his personality and his preaching are alike twofold, and the title Zul-Kifl means “the one of double”
